'Going for gold' together

Secondary schools could consider following the example of teacher Theo Wismans, Charlemagne College in Landgraaf, Netherlands, near Germany.

He was mentoring a class with a lot of problems. In those days he had read a book by Marc Lammers, coach of Dutch ladies national hockey team. They scored  gold at the Beijing Olympics.

Wismans: “We could also go for gold together. We took a long walk with the kids. Somewhere in the hills, we sat down in a circle and a real conversation took place".

"We repeated the event. Even the most problematic person finally said that he enjoyed the trip".
